Meet at the North Entrance of Southampton Central railway station.

Take the train from Southampton Central to Winchester.

Walk from Winchester station to Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton.

Stay at Winchester School of Art.

Approx. 15 mins
Walk from Winchester School of Art to Winchester Cathedral.

Approx. 10 mins
Short introduction at Winchester Cathedral. The guided city walk will then finish, and participants may continue exploring Winchester independently.
Meeting Point

The meeting point is the North Entrance of Southampton Central railway station, on the Tesco side.

If you take the U6C, you will usually arrive at the South Entrance side of the station. Please use the pedestrian footbridge to reach the North Entrance.

If you take the U2C, the bus stop is already on the North Entrance side.

Booking Information
This is a free city walk event. There is no entry fee and no registration fee. Participants need to purchase their own train tickets.
The event includes a group leader and basic guidance on how to buy train tickets. If you are not sure how to buy a train ticket, our leader can guide you at the meeting point on the day.
This event is currently only open to students at the University of Southampton. Participants must use their University of Southampton email address when booking.

This is a free walking event in a public city environment. Participants are responsible for their own personal safety throughout the activity, including when crossing roads, walking on pavements, using stairs, entering public areas, and travelling by train or bus.
Participants should follow all traffic signals, road-crossing rules, railway station rules, and instructions from transport staff. Please wear suitable shoes and clothing for walking, and check the weather before attending.
Train and bus services are operated by third-party transport providers. The organiser is not responsible for delays, cancellations, timetable changes, ticket issues, service disruption, accidents, or incidents caused by public transport providers or other third parties.
Participants are responsible for their own belongings, including phones, wallets, bags, travel cards, passports, and other personal items. The organiser is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
By booking and attending this event, participants confirm that they are able to take part in a walking activity and agree to act responsibly during the trip. Anyone who chooses to leave the group during or after the city walk will be responsible for their own route, travel, and personal safety.
